NEW PRODUCTS 14-Plex Pneumococcal Array The Q-Plex Pneumococcal Array is a fully quantitative ELISA-based chemiluminescent array al- lowing the concurrent mea- surement of 14 serotypes along with a CPS positive and negative control. Each spot correlates to the following polysac- charides; 1, 3, 4, 6B, 7F, 8, 9N, 9V, 12F, 14, a8C, 19A, 19F, and 23F. Utiliz- ing 25 µL of patient sample and taking 90 minutes, all 14 assays can be tested at once providing a sample-, time-, and cost-efcient solution. With an intra-plate %CV of 6% and inter-plate %CV of 9%, the Q-Plex Pneumo Array can accurately and precisely measure seroprevelance of S. pneumoniae. Quansys Biosciences www.quansysbio.com Proteomics Platform The TripleTOF 6600 system with SWATH Acquisi- tion 2.0 brings new power to proteomic data challenges for advanced biomarker discov- ery and systems biology. As the emphasis in proteomics research shifts from cataloging to comprehensive quantitation, this solu- tion enables the quantifcation of thousands of proteins across large sample sets. SWATH incorporates a data-independent acquisition strategy. It fragments every de- tectable peptide in the sample in order to acquire quantitative MS/ MS data. This approach has been shown to increase the capacity of targeted proteomics experiments by over 30-fold and reduce study time by as much as 90%. Now, with the increased dynamic range of the TripleTOF 6600 System, researchers can more deeply interrogate complex samples. AB Sciex www.absciex.com Plate Reader The DynaPro® Plate Reader II is capable of running high- throughput, automated HTS- DLS analyses to characterize PPI in standaård microwell plates, under multiple conditions in a reduced time frame, making DLS a viable option for SIP screening. Additionally, DLS measures the viscosity of highly concentrated proteins with the same high throughput and low sample consumption. The onset points of aggrega- tion or melting may be obtained in the DynaPro via temperature ramps or chemical denaturing, to assess additional SIPs for conformational stability, making the DynaPro DLS plate reader useful for developability and formulation screening. Wyatt Technology www.wyatt.com Cytotoxicity Assay Kit for 3D Cell Culture The 3D InSight™ Cytotoxicity Assay Kit ofers a solution for toxicity and efcacy test- ing. The biochemical assay incorporates luminescent detection technology with improved reagent stability or measurement of cell viability in 3D microtissues. The kit measures ATP levels in spher- oids using homogeneous luciferase-based assay tech- nology, providing reliable quantifcation of viability with a simple add-mix-read assay format. The complete kit contains reagents suitable for analysis of about 400 microtissues, including an ATP standard and a 3D- optimized protocol compatible with assay-ready microtissues such as liver, pancreatic islet, and a variety of tumor microtissues derived from common cancer cell lines. InSphero www.insphero.com Transfection Reagent FectoPRO, an optimized transfec- tion reagent, has been designed for high yields in medium and large-scale production of pro- teins and antibodies in mam- malian cells. It will also produce up to three times more protein using half the DNA required by other leading commercial trans- fection reagents. In addition, scientists working with transient gene expression systems using FectoPRO will be able to beneft from reproducibility experiment- to-experiment and between reagent batches. The reagent is well characterized in terms of chemical structure and is supplied ready-to-use. Polyplus-transfection www.polyplus-transfection.com Imaging System Cytell™ Cell Imaging System is equipped with on-board data analysis and visualiza- tion tools. It stream- lines and simplifes routine assays such as cell cycle and cell viability and efciently delivers high-quality, quantita- tive results. Key to the simplifcation are the onboard Bioapps—preconfgured, software modules that automate all the steps from imaging and data acquisition through data analysis, visualization, and report gen- eration. The system is compact and small enough to sit on a benchtop. Cytell can image a wide variety of sample formats including slides, petri dishes, T-fasks, and microplates. BioApps that are currently available include digital imaging, automated imaging, and quick count. GE Healthcare www.gelifesciences.com
