Bruker Protein L Chromatography Resin TOYOPEARL AF-rProtein L-650F, a Protein L resin that exhibits the highest binding capacity for antibody fragments that lack a Fc- portion (e.g., Fab, ScF Dab, etc.). This new resin offers the high binding capacity, but also has the ability to bind to antibody classes that do not have the affinity to Protein A, such as IgM and IgA. The selected recombinant protein L ligand used in the TOYOPEARL AF-rProtein L-650F resin is alkali stable and therefore able to with- stand the high alkaline conditions necessary for clean-in-place (CIP). ACD/Labs Bioassay for Improved Quality Control Testing MEGA™ is a new mouse embryo assay that measures gene expression for quality control testing of raw materials used for the manufacture of media for in vitro fertilization (IVF). In studies, MEGA demonstrat- ed increased ability to detect embryotoxic materials that could adversely affect embryo development. The mouse embryo assay (MEA) has been long used as the standard method of testing raw materials and components used in IVF media and assisted repro- ductive technologies (ART). MEGA employs a func- tional molecular biomarker to improve the detection of toxic media or any other environmental stress that may negatively impact early development. The assay measures both the early fluorescence intensity (EFI) and location of fluorescence produced by green fluorescent protein (GFP), which is expressed under the control of the Oct4 promoter. In recent studies, MEGA was able to detect toxicity at considerably lower levels than MEA. Irvine Scientific Single-Use Flowmeters The SumoFlo ® flowme- ters are specifically de- signed to provide single- use flow-measurement solutions for biopharma- ceutical manufacturing applications including: tangential and depth filtration, buffer dilution, cell-culture solutions, chromatography, pure water, or ultrahigh purity chemicals or hygienic fluids with varying den- sity or viscosity. Malema Protein Expression System Vmax™ Express is a fast-growing bacterial strain designed for high-level protein expression. This next- generation protein expression system can replace slow-growing E. coli systems prone to low yields and the genera- tion of insoluble inclu- sion bodies. Vmax cells are derived from Vibrio natriegens, a fast-growing marine bacterium. This gram-negative, nonpatho- genic bacterium doubles twice as fast as E. coli, produces greater amounts of biomass, and generates larger amounts of protein in a shorter time period.
