New Products Automated Imaging System The ImageXpress® Nano Automated Imaging system allows researchers to access their system and data online with the browser-based CellReporterXpress software. The software comes preloaded with 25 different assay modules and simple, linear workflows. The Imag- eXpress Nano system enables researchers to capture high-quality images and garner more relevant, quantitative data. The imaging system can be configured with the user's preferred filters and objectives. Additional options include transmitted light capability for imaging of non-labeled samples and sample incubation (temperature, humidity, CO 2 ), provided through an environmental control feature. Molecular Devices The new Sartobind® cassettes offer the same flowpath, bed heights (4 and 8 mm), and void volume ratios as Sartobind capsules, and are compatible with Q, S, STIC PA, and phenyl ligands. The new design goes beyond the previous 5-L size limitation for capsule formats, expanding the boundaries of membrane chromatography. Multiple cassettes, each with 0.8-L or 1.6-L membrane volume, can be set up in three different stainless-steel holders, resulting in maximum membrane volumes of 20, 50, or 100 L, respectively. Data demonstrate direct scalability from the 3 mL Sartobind nano capsule to 20.8 L (13 cassettes) in the Pilot Filter Holder. Pressure-flow performance and the shape of breakthrough curves are identical to the smaller capsule sizes, independent of the number of cassettes used. Sartorius Stedim Biotech Tangential-Flow Filters The new Tangential Flow Depth Filtra- tion (TFDF®) technology for bioreactor perfusion combines the advantages of tangential-flow filtration (TFF) and depth filtration. Similar to hollow-fiber TFF, with TFDF cells are pumped through the lumen of the fibers back into the bioreac- tor. Instead of the protein and cell debris forming a fouling gel layer on the inner diameter of the filter, the thick TFDF fiber wall works like a depth filter—trapping cell debris within the wall structure while allowing close to 100% passage of target protein. TFDF is compatible with micro- carrier and suspension cell cultures and is scalable from 1.5-L to 2000-L bioreactors. Spectrum Labs Real-Time PCR Data Analysis Conventional real-time PCR software requires researchers to export their data into another software package for in-depth analysis. To streamline this process, Bio-Rad introduced the CFX Maestro software as a complete workflow solution for every step of real-time PCR data analysis. The soft- ware integrates statistical analysis, data visualization, and publication-ready graphics production in one platform. The program includes tools to support reference-gene selection, efficiency-corrected relative normalization, data visualization (e.g., bar charts, the ability to edit and annotate graphs), statistics (e.g., t-tests and one- and two-way ANOVA tests), and multiplate analysis. The intuitiveness of CFX Maestro starts from the beginning with assay design, where researchers can easily set up their plate and run conditions or use a predesigned PrimePCR™ plate and run files that automatically set up plate and run conditions. Bio-Rad Clinical Analyzer The Cascadion SM Clini- cal Analyzer brings to- gether the ease of use of clinical analyzers with the selectivity and sensitivity of liquid chroma- tography–tandem mass spectrom- etry (LC–MS/MS). The innovative new analyzer is designed for use in a variety of settings and is meant to provide results for a range of clinical tests. The new Cascadion analyzer has been designed to provide clinical labs with a solution that is both efficient and effective in detecting and measuring specialty small-molecule assays with no specialized knowledge required. Thermo Fisher High-Throughput Sample Processing The Viaflo 96/384 is an integral part of the new high-throughput biological sample collection and processing system. Once samples have been collected, the Viaflo 96 facilitates the processing of hundreds or thousands of samples per day using the autoMitra™ workflow. The Mitra device is based on Volumetrix Absorptive Microsampling (VAMS™) technology, which allows accurate and reliable collection of 10 or 20 µL of blood (or other biological fluid) in seconds. This technique also eliminates the volumetric hematocrit bias typi- cally associated with the traditional dried blood spotting technique. When the Viaflo 96 is used, up to 96 samples can be reliably and reproducibly processed in parallel. Integra Biosciences Membrane Chromatography Cassettes
