New Products RNA-Seq Chip for DroNc-Seq A new chip for the DroNc-seq enables high-through- put single-nucleus RNA-seq using droplet microfluid- ics. The single nucleus RNA-seq chip is designed to produce smaller droplets, allowing straightforward, low-cost profiling of thousands of nuclei. DroNc-seq is a novel, single-cell RNA-seq methodology, which uses isolated nuclei instead of whole cells. Nuclei can be quickly and easily isolated from frozen or lightly fixed tissues—including tissues from which individuals cells are difficult to isolate. The single nucleus RNA-seq chip is ideal for nuclei encapsulation and has been opti- mized for the generation of smaller diameter droplets than those used in standard scRNA-seq protocols. Dolomite Bio Digital Microscope Cameras Two new digital microscope cameras—Axiocam 702 mono and Axiocam 512 color—complement the cur- rent portfolio of high-speed USB 3.0 microscope cameras. The Axiocam 702 mono intro- duces a microscope camera with a scientific CMOS sensor. Users benefit from low read noise, excellent low-light sensitivity, and high speed for live-cell imaging and acquisition of fast processes. It also features a 1/1.2"(13.3- mm diagonal) sensor with a resolution of 2.3 megapixels, making it an attractive entry into the world of scientific CMOS imaging. The Axiocam 512 color allows acquisition of large sample areas in one high resolution, true color image. The 12-megapixel CCD sensor with a size of 1" (16 mm diagonal) delivers an excellent live image and high acquisition speed. In combination with low magnification and zoom objectives, it offers optimal resolution for imaging of large specimens without stitching. Zeiss Automated Cryo-Thawing The VIA Thaw CB1000 is designed for thawing large volumes of cryo- preserved cell therapies. This new range of automated, dry thawing units provides users with control over the thawing of sensitive thera- pies, and addresses key challenges faced by cell-therapy companies. The VIA Thaw CB1000 standard- izes and streamlines the recovery of cryopreserved samples with a system which captures a complete, auditable thaw record. Thaw profiles can be customized to every cell therapy sample and transmitted across multiple sites to ensure consistent sample thawing. All VIA Thaw CB1000 units have a '"lockdown'"option to limit the operator to a single preset profile and minimize the risk of error. Electronic data logging creates a record of each step in the thawing process and enables sources of variation to be identified quickly. GE Healthcare Rapid Blood Group Genotyping The ReadyPlex™ product family is new range of real-time PCR-based products for genomic analysis of erythrocyte blood groups, human platelet antigens, human neutrophil antigens, and coagulation poly- morphisms. Each PCR reaction has an internal positive control to verify successful amplification allowing confident allelic typing. Users simply add DNA to the assay plate, run the amplification for approximately 45 minutes, and then use the ReadyPlex Clarity™ software for automatic analysis of results and report generation. Biofortuna Constant Climate Chamber With an interior volume of 36 cubic feet, the KBF 1020 constant climate chamber offers dependable storage for either large quanti- ties of test specimens or for large samples. The units feature a new 5.7" touchscreen controller for programming ease and the latest generation of APT line preheating technology, which provides high-level tem- perature accuracy—even under full load— with outstanding temperature uniformity. The program controller regulates chamber conditions and can be used to program temperature and humidity cycles in real time. Password-protected access levels prevent unauthorized access. Status and alarm notifi- cations and a built-in USB port are included. The KBF line includes models with 3.6, 8.7, and 24.7 cubic feet interiors. Binder High-Performance Microplate Reader The CLARIOstar ® is a multimode, high-perfor- mance microplate reader with a revolutionary new type of dual monochromator technology. The advanced LVF Monochromators TM , along with filters and a spectrometer, can be used for a variety of applications in the different detection modes. The CLARIOstar's new gas-ramping func- tion fully manipulates the environment within a microplate reader by mimicking in vitro hypoxia and ischemia/reperfusion. The CLARIOstar with atmospheric control unit is the first plate reader that is able to rapidly return to physiological gas conditions upon active modification of 0 2 and CO 2 tensions within the reader, reproducing disease-specific settings in live-cell-based assays.
