Accessories for Protein Purifcation System A fraction collector and sample pump are now available for ÄKTA™ pure, the modular chromatography system for protein purifcation. Designed to handle both air and liquid, the sample pump, together with the sample inlet valve, provides automated and complete loading of up to seven samples. The air sensor integrated into the valve can detect the fnal drop of sample to prevent the introduction of air while ensuring the complete sample reaches the column. In order to secure samples from dust and contaminants, the fraction collector is covered and it supports combinations of collection vessels from deep-well plates to 250 mL bottles. Mouse Assays for qPCR The mouse genome has been added to the PrimePCR assays for qPCR. PrimePCR assays are real-time PCR primers that have been experimentally validated to ensure performance. Through a collaboration with Biogazelle, SYBR® Green-based gene expression assays for the mouse genome were designed, optimized, and validated. In addition, the PrimePCR mouse assays allow full integration with CFX real-time PCR systems and data analysis software, and predesigned pathway and disease plates curated by Thomson Reuters for canonical pathways and related collections can help researchers identify and investigate key targets. Bio-Rad www.bio-rad.com GE Healthcare Life Sciences www.gelifesciences.com Microscope Filter Wheel Deck The HF108IX3 flter wheel deck is designed for the Olympus IX3 inverted microscope systems. The HF108IX3 provides a compact high-speed flter wheel option, accommodating up to eight 32 mm diameter flters. The unit is mounted below the nosepiece, which can enable the user to not only switch between wavelengths at high speed, but also to see the fuorescent images through the eyepieces of the IX3 microscope as well as the camera. The HF108IX3 flter wheel is also compatible with the Olympus ZDC (Z Drift Compensator). Microarray Scanner The SureScan Dx microarray scanner is indicated for use in a clinical laboratory environment when measuring fuorescence signals of labeled DNA or RNA targets hybridized to microarrays used as part of a validated diagnostic assay. The system has been validated for use with comparative genomic hybridization and gene expression microarrays. The SureScan Dx microarray scanner can deliver high sensitivity and resolution for copy-number change analysis, as well as broad dynamic range. Agilent Technologies www.agilent.com Prior Scientifc www.prior.com High-Defnition Mass Spectrometer The impact HD™ works well for applications where trace analysis from complex, high-background matrices is a challenge, such as biomarker research, identifcation of impurities, or residue screening. With broad mass-transfer ion optics and 50 Gbit/ sec sampling technology, a dynamic range of fve orders of magnitude can be achieved in one second of LC time, making possible high-resolution detection of low-abundance compounds in sharp UHPLC peaks and permitting direct quantitation without rerun. The HD performance is directed by Instant Expertise™ software. MS/MS acquisition parameters can be adapted to the incident sample, independent of sample amount or complexity. Bruker www.bruker.com Mixer and Incubator for Sample Prep The mixing results of the ThermoMixer® C, F1.5 and FP (two-in one instruments for combined mixing and incubating) are due to the 2D Mix-Control technology, which can ensure efcient mixing and now ofers mixing solutions in 96- and 384-well plates. Controlled circular movements achieve thorough mixing of liquids in small volumes, while the antispill technology prevents lid wetting and cross-contamination. For dry incubation, the ThermoMixer C and ThermoStat C can be operated together with SmartBlocks, which are easily exchangable via QuickRelease™ technology.
