New Products For more information, visit our website (genengnews.com) and click on New Products. There you'll be able to see more products from industry leaders and directly email suppliers for more information. Live-Cell Imaging System The IncuCyte ZOOM™ acquires images automatically from within the user's cell culture in- cubator, enabling users to gather biological image data without removing the cells from their physiological environment. The IncuCyte is also equipped with integrated software providing quantification of the real-time biological processes under observation. New features on the ZOOM include multifluores- cent colors, support of a range of magnifications, and enhanced phase-contrast processing tools. Essen BioScience www.essenbioscience.com ssDNA Quantitation The QuantiFluor™ ssDNA system is designed for highly sensitive quantitation of single- stranded DNA (ssDNA). The QuantiFluor ssDNA dye enables quantitation of small amounts (as little as 200 pg per well) of ssDNA in solution. For low-concentration samples, the system delivers sensitivity greater than absorbance at 260 nm. The QuantiFluor ssDNA system includes all the required reagents to deliver ssDNA quantita- tion results. It can be set up on microplate or single-tube fluorometers, and is available as an integrated solution with instrument pairing. Promega www.promega.com Low Dead Volume Reservoir A 10 mL disposable multi- channel reagent reservoir whose low dead volume (650 µL) can generate sav- ings on reagent usage is now available. One side of the 10 mL reagent reservoir is molded into a pour-back spout to help control liquid flow, allowing users to re- turn excess fluid to a source container. Integra Biosciences www.integra-biosciences.com Refrigerated Centrifuge The refrigerated centrifuge 5424 R is a 24-place centrifuge that can spin up to 21,130 x g and can cool to set temperatures from -10ºC to 40ºC. The FastTemp function allows for eight-minute precooling to 4ºC. This microcen- trifuge includes a condensation drain to eliminate water accumu- lation and to prevent corrosion. Centrifuge 5424 R also has four different rotor options. Options include the Kit rotor, which is designed with an extended rim to support tube caps when using MiniPrep spin-column kits. Eppendorf www.eppendorfna.com Freezers Different sizes of Kaltis® freezers, which can provide stability at various operat- ing temperatures, are now available. They utilize CFC-free refrigeration tech- nology and are designed for a range of applications with reduced energy consumption at a low noise level. The construction includes a stainless-steel cabinet interiors, low-maintenance dual compressors, CFC-free insulation, and locking mechanisms. They also feature key pad microprocessor alarms and control systems for monitoring. BioPro International www.biopro.com Nephelometric Microplate Reader The NEPHELOstar Plus is a laser-based nephelometer that measures light-scat- tering in a microplate- based environment. Light-scattering is an alternative to absorbance measurements and it is a technique that measures the turbidity or solubility of a sample in a solution. The NEPHELOstar Plus detects insoluble particles in liquid samples by measuring forward scattered light. Possible applications include: compound solubility screening, microbial cell growth kinetics, antibody-antigen interaction, immunoprecipitation, and polymeriza- tion monitoring.
