Sterilizing-Grade Filters The surface of the Sartopore® Platinum polyethersulfone filter membrane has been modified using a hydrophilic and ther- mostable polymer. This surface modification gives the mem- brane good wetting properties and reduces its protein binding. Fewer than five liters of WFI (water for injection) are needed to wet a 10" Sartopore Platinum cartridge for subsequent integ- rity testing. Sartopore Platinum filter cartridges can be dry- steam sterilized in the forward or the reverse direction, without altering the properties of their membrane. These sterilizing-grade filters can be used in the pH range from 1 to 14 and thus for most filtration applications in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Sartorius Stedim Biotech www.sartorius.com Tumor Marker Control The Acusera multianalyte liquid tumor marker control covers a total of 15 commonly tested and esoteric cancer antigens and tumor markers. Assayed target values can help laboratories monitor both accuracy and precision. The liquid stable nature reduces the need for reconstitution and the amount of human handling necessary; it also allows the material to be shipped and stored at 2–8°C. The serum is 100% human in origin, providing a matrix similar to the patient sample but also both reducing antibody interference and the possibility of control values shifting after changing reagent batch. Randox Laboratories www.randox.com Cell Cryopreservation Nucleofector™ Plus supplements are an add-on product for use in combination with Nucleofector kits. These specialized supple- ments, which are used instead of the standard kit supplement, allow cryopreservation of freshly isolated or harvested cells in Nucleofector solution. Cells can be collected, stored, and be ready to use at a later time, and can deliver transfection results comparable to fresh cells. Lonza www.lonza.com Genotyping Processor GeneMarker MTP processes up to six varying chemistries or size standards in a single analysis run. Following the genotyp- ing of the six projects, users have access to the applications found in GeneMarker software including MLPA®, MS-MLPA, Trisomy, Fragile X, AFLP, MSI, LOH, SNaP- shot®, and others. The GeneMarker MTP, which is Windows 7 and 8 compatible, can process 6–96-well plates in 35 seconds. GeneMarker MTP has applications in large clinical research settings, allowing multiple chemistries to be analyzed in a single batch, and core facilities can benefit by utilizing full sequencing plates from vari- ous laboratories. SoftGenetics www.softgenetics.com Chromatography Columns Immunoassay Slide The A2® Oligo-Link-it slide is designed for the development of multiplex immunoassays. The plastic slide contains arrays of capture oligonucleotides covalently linked to the surface. Antibodies can then be oligo- linked to complementary oligos to create antibody arrays on the slide through a hybridization step. QuantiScientifics www.quantiscientifics.com Yarra™ is a family of aqueous size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) columns for biomolecule analysis. Yarra columns are engineered to provide efficiency increases of up to 70% and higher resolving power. Yarra columns, offered in three phases with 3-micron particles, are designed for the separation of small to large proteins and peptides, as well as biologi- cal therapeutics and biosimilars. Their hydrophilic surface chemistry promotes high resolution and minimal absorption of proteins for accurate quantitation.
