Triple-Quadrupole GC/MS/MS The GCMS-TQ8030 is capable of running all triple-quadrupole operational modes. These modes include multiple reaction monitoring, scan/ MRM, neutral loss scan, product ion scan, precursor ion scan, scan/SIM, plus any combination of modes. At scan speeds of 20,000 u/ second, the GCMS-TQ8030 acquires the maximum number of MRM transitions for targeted analytes. The instrument simultaneously acquires scan data for nontarget analyses. It incorporates UFsweeper® technology, which reduces collision cell length, provides collisioninduced dissociation, and reduces cross-talk. The overdrive lens and high-sensitivity ion optics can eliminate neutral noise and increase signal intensity for good S/N ratio. The GCMS-TQ8030 also features a front-access ion source. Molecular Interaction Software Update Biacore™ T200 Software v.2.0 enhances the capabilities of Biacore T200, ofering researchers a tool for processing molecular interaction data. Together, they can facilitate label-free screening of lowmolecular-weight compounds and low-abundance proteins, giving detailed binding profles on moleculedrug candidate mechanisms of action that ultimately assist in earlier lead selection and optimization. The new software can simplify and speed up the generation and transformation of raw label-free interaction data into high-quality information, reducing the time needed for screening and hit validation. It also encompasses algorithms for ranking and qualifcation of binders versus nonbinders, and enables comparison of datasets through normalization of sample responses by a number of means. GE Healthcare Life Sciences www.gelifesciences.com Shimadzu Scientifc Instruments www.ssi.shimadzu.com Data Acquisition System LC-MS System The Orbitrap Fusion LC-MS combines its three mass analyzers—quadrupole, Orbitrap, and linear ion trap—in a "Tribrid" architecture that ofers depth of analysis of complex biological samples. This Tribrid confguration allows users to identify large numbers of low-abundance proteins. Its architecture enables simultaneous precursor isolation, fragmentation, and data acquisition in both the Orbitrap and linear ion trap mass analyzers. The Orbitrap Fusion system also features a drag-and-drop method editor that can remove guesswork from setting up complex methods. Thermo Fisher Scientifc www.thermofsher.com The Axon™ Digidata® 1550 low-noise data acquisition system allows for the parallel patching of up to eight cells simultaneously. It features eight independent analog output channels to simultaneously send command waveforms to multiple cells at one time for higher throughput toxicology experiments or to study synaptic function in complex neuronal networks. Combined with a sampling rate of up to 500 kHz per channel, the Digidata 1550 Digitizer allows researchers to gather more data points in demanding experiments such as nanopore and bilayer studies. This rate monitors signals in the biorelevant frequency range whilst achieving a total data throughput rate of 4 mega-samples per second. Independent analog-to-digital converters for each input channel also ensure low crosstalk levels and high data acquisition rates. Molecular Devices www.moleculardevices.com Upstream Cell Culture and Fermentation Controllers G3Lab Universal™ SmartControllers are designed to not only work with stirred-tank glass vessels from most major manufacturers, but also stirred-tank single-use vessels and rockers. They ofer single-use sensors for pH and dissolved oxygen as well as traditional electrochemical ones and standard sensors for temperature and foam/level. They also have a signifcant amount of spare input/output capacity for peripheral devices such as pumps or scales for more sophisticated perfusion processes. Each G3Lab Universal controller leverages SmartParts components. The utility tower has a standard set of four peristaltic SmartPumps, a SmartMotor driver, and SmartTransmitters for TruFluor or electrochemical sensors. Up to six gases can be controlled using SmartMFCs in a compact gas manifold. Finesse Solutions Drive for OEM Pumps DriveSure™ is a new panel-mount OEM brushless DC gear motor with integrated speed controller. DriveSure features a 51:1 control ratio and a 408-8 rpm speed range. The drive is ofered in 24 V and 48 V DC options, and directly accepts market-standard analogue control signals. DriveSure features a range of panel-mount brushless DC motor gearboxes and controllers as a package, which can work well for OEMs wishing to panel-mount pumpheads including the 102R, 114, 313D, 501RL, and 520R series, for a fow range from 0.1 to 6,100 mL/min. The control and fow rate capability also meets the requirements of bioreactors, bench-top cross-fow fltration equipment, and chromatography equipment.
